The Context

In a world of rapid technological, social, political and economic change, education and social inclusion of children with diverse background and ability remains one of the major challenges and of immense significance. Inclusive education is not just about disabled children and young people. It is being gradually realised that such inclusion is a primary condition for bringing equity and social justice in society. In April 2000, the World Education Forum at Dakar, Senegal had resolved that by 2015 all children in difficult circumstances, particularly girls and those belonging to ethnic minorities should have access to complete free and compulsory primary education of good quality. However, inequality and discrimination in education continues to be a major concern. It is against this background that the issues related to inclusive education need to be addressed.

Need and Focus

The conference provides a platform for academician, researchers, teachers, planners, administrators, policy makers and interested members of the society to discuss the issues related to social and educational challenges. It will mainly focus on the issues related to training and development for education and social inclusion especially for children and young people.

  5. Hey,

We have an excellent Teacher Learning program on how teachers can use Creative Facilitation techniques to develop life skills through the regular subjects that they teach in school. We would love to make a presentation on our model, successes and learnings. Is there a platform to make a presentation of this nature.

The theme of the conference is relevant and I am sure multiple perspectives presented by scholars of varied disciplinary and cultural background would enhance our understanding and suggest new ideas for social policy and action plan. Due to demanding nature of my present job and conflicting schedule ,I seek permission to attend some of the sessions on 25 and 26 Nov,if possible.
